Since around 2010, we often hear the words, “minimalism” or “decluttering,” which means that people try to enrich their spirit by owning only the essentials and de-emphasizing volume or a luence. Such minimalistic life style has been favored among people as it is characterized by judgment of what’s important, commitment to one’s own style, and possession of only the essentials.
The number of people with the the type of idealism has increased recently. They would rather live with meaningful and small number of things than 1000 online friends. One’s appreciation and selectivity for possessions is somewhat similar to one’s consideration and care for those who are signi cant to the person. Ms. Makishi said “you can imagine that your backpack sits on the top of the rack and what’s inside the bag are neatly organized underneath. Clothes, books, shoes, and everything necessary for your life have their places in the rack. I’d be delighted if you could use it in such a way.”
The excitement of living outside of the norm, such as traveling elsewhere and having a small escape from a busy day. It is just like how people wish to live with only the objects that would t on “Wall.” You can imagine yourself living somewhere else tomorrow. It must make you feel lighthearted.
